Before and Slightly After.

Just last night I was thinking back on the very reason why I've always wanted to wear braces. I mean, duhh. It's obviously because I feel/know that I don't have a nice straight set of teeth. And one of the very first things that attract my attention towards people/guys is their teeth and lips. I don't know, it sounds crazy but I love looking at guys/girls who wear braces! No kidding. So, of course, I myself want to make sure I am happy with mine, right?

I've always wanted to wear them years ago but I didn't want to do it with my parents' money, so I saved my own moolahs and finally did it. Though in the end, my dad decided to sponsor half of it. Sweet hah?

The process of it till the day they actually put the metals on my tooth one by one was quite a pain. I had to get two healthy teeth removed. that was not the painful part. The waiting time between after two teeth extracted until spending that two hours on the very slanted chair. Now that is a real pain. Glad it's over. The waiting part. No patience girl, me :)

Anyways, I looked back at some photos. Photos that made me so thankful that I did them. Did them braces. So many people told me before that it's fine and it looks good like Koay and my parents and two sisters.

Before we started dating, Koay said, "Babe, your teeth are very nice d. I never noticed that it's not straight also!"
After we started and braces were put on, he looked at me and said. "Wah! Seriously, got a lot of difference wei.."

Things that this boy will say to make you feel better. And then joked about it. He definitely has a very unique way to tell me the truth without hurting this girl :)

So anyway, I just feel like I wanna upload some photos to show you how these teeth have gradually changed over the one year since I started to eat less and suffer in pain. Worth suffering though :)

I do not remember dates very well so yeah. These photos are in order leading to today. Or wait. a few days ago. From having vampire-ish/zombie-ish ugly teeth to having quite a straight one already. I said vampire/zombie because I have been very caught up with this kind of TV series. First, The Walking Dead and now, The Vampire Diaries (which I can't believe that I'm starting to love it). Well, hot guys and drop-dead gorgeous ladies, why not?

Coming back to this. I can't believe my teeth were so UGLY! After months into wearing those metals, the "vampire-ish" teeth that I had become more obvious because they had to pull it down in order to pull back to be aligned with other teeth. So yeah... I would say the ugliest moment for me personally (to appear in photos) is the time when we went to Perhentian Island with a bunch of amazing friends! Perhentian Island is so nice that I don't mind going there again! And this time, for sure I'll snap away and be vain like no one's business! Muahaha.

Now, time to feast your eyes upon the transformation over the one amazing year.

Chapter 327: Braces.

Now God has us where he wants us, with all the time in this world and the next to shower grace and kindness upon us in Christ Jesus.

Saving is all his idea, and all his work.

All we do is TRUST HIM ENOUGH to let him do it. It’s God’s gift from start to finish!

We don’t play the major role. If we did, we’d probably go around bragging that we’d done the whole thing! No, we neither make nor save ourselves.

God does BOTH the making and saving. He creates each of us by Christ Jesus to join him in the work he does, the good work he has gotten ready for us to do, work we had better be doing.

Job Number Two.

And yes, I have finally announced the second job of which I posted up in Facebook last week. I know, you must be like, it's not a big deal and stuff. A few people actually asked and I kinda refused to tell and make them wait? Why did I do that I also don't know.. Just for the fun I think. You can see it in my Instagram on my sidebar. So yeah, started my nanny-job last night. Went home early after date night with Koay and slept next to both of them. Woke up a few times to feed her and burp her. I've gotta admit that it was tiring as I still need to go work the next day. But it is very rewarding.

Sha Lynn is such a smiley. She smiled so many times when I burped her. Ahhh the cuteness melts. As long as she's well fed with mommy's milk and she gets enough sleep, she's a good girl. She's a good girl MOST of the time. She only cries when she's hungry actually. Other than that, she's pretending to look at us and smile again. SMILING ALL THE TIME.

It's not gonna be like I sleep with them everyday because I still need to save my energy to drive around the island for work. So, it's alternate kinda thing. That way, I can still have date nights and hangout nights with people :)

I am so thankful for this God-given-blessing right here :)

On another note, triple yay to PUBLIC HOLIDAY TOMORROW. I want Malaysia to be a safe place with no curfew whatsoever because this is a peaceful country. Let's keep to that!

Fourteen Days Old.

First time making her sleep in my arms after fifteen minutes of playing and goofing around with her.

Employee-No-Work-Day.

My first time ever celebrating Labor day. Well, obviously because I just started "working" last year August. And I obviously must make sure I really enjoyed this mid-week-one-day-only-off-day to the max.

So, we planned out a roadtrip out of Penang and not all the way to Ipoh since that's a bit too far for 11 of us. We decided to have seafood feast at Pulau Aman and lepak at places around the area, sort of.

What made my holiday even better was the call I got from Koay on Tuesday while at work. The call that makes me smile almost instantly.

Me: Hiii! Yes babe?
Koay: Babe ah, want to go Hard Rock Hotel tonight?
Me: Hah, for what hah?
Koay: I just got a free 3D2N stay there but must stay tonight d.
Me: WHATT? Seriouslyy?
Koay: Seriouslah!
Me: Ons ka lu ahh! :)

Yeah, a friend of ours couldn't stay there so he decided to give it to Koay. We invited Jack and Carmen for some mini slumber party that night and we didn't sleep till it was like 330am! Actually, that's because we checked in very late, like around 11pm. The room is amazing. Flat screen TV, bed that fit the four of us perfectly and huge living area where the table and a couch is. Oh oh and the view from the balcony, absolutely breathtaking. It's directly on top of the main pool area (as you can see in my Instagram)

We slept for like four hours only then we went down for breakfast. Love having breakfast in hotels. It just makes you feel like you're on a real holiday somewhere far away. This actually brings back memory of my Club Med holiday. Ahhh. Okay, so after having some yogurt and croissants and nasi lemak and scramble eggs, we went for a walk by the beach. It's been a while since we dip our feet in the salted water. It was a quick and fun dip. I could use a longer one though. Hah. The sea was surprisingly very very calm that morning.

Anyways, we were awake so early as we needed to meet up with the rest to start on our roadtrip. That also we were late. Hah.

We then went to the "Peaceful Island" in three cars. Total of eleven humans. We used Waze of course. I will not comment on the food that we ate because it will all be featured HERE. It's our food blog! Please like us on our Facebook which you can find on the right side of this blog! :)

Just in case you didn't know, Google AdSense has approved us and we are now in their team! Happy because we're finally accepted and recognized (sort of). Google AdSense is known for being very strict with lots of rules that you must follow and some expectations that your blog must live up to. So, for our food blog to be able to have that, it's just another accomplishment and a reason to celebrate (I'm thinking of Japanese cuisine..)

After lunch, we were heading to Penang Bird Park. Yep, the plan was to experience this bird park thingy since Taiping Zoo is too far to go at that time. And according to Nic, the entrance fee is RM0.00! Zero! BUT WE WENT THERE AND IT'S RM18 PER HEAD! Hahaha. To cut the story short, we ended up hanging out at Sunway Carnival Mall. Koay bought two pillows since there were big sale happening. Then, we had Raja Uda Tomyam before heading back to the island by ferry.

One of the things that we enjoyed being food bloggers are getting to know people and building our network. Koay is gifted in that. Everyone, please meet the man. The PR Director of WhatTwoEatHere with the man that sells the fresh seafood at Pulau Aman.

Ended the day with a surprise for the lil sister who celebrates 18th years of life today. A great surprise that was. HER FACE when she opened her room door and all the siau kias shouted! Special thanks to everyone who made it happen and my parents for making her go into their room while the rest sneaked into her bedroom.

Me: He a bit lost. He wants to go home d. He wants to call his mom la cos his hp died. *I was just trying to make excuses why he's walking around aimlessly*

 Ahh, the best Labor Day because it's the first and definitely not gonna be last. Every Labor Day shall be productive and fun like that.

Two Noobs Go Spa.

About a month or so ago, we decided to help Andrew make a video. A video on L.O.V.E. and death and proposal and stuff. I still remember when he first asked me through Facebook, I said no immediately and then he continued saying that he needs us because we are already a couple. So, I went to ask Koay and suprisingly he said, "OK!" without thinking deeply. Haha. I was a bit reluctant cos I do not act or want to be in video shooting stuff. I'm more like a watch-the-video-kind. Well, Koay is also like that but he mentioned to me that it would be a new adventure that we get to explore and do it together. And afterall, it's not really acting because we are really together.

So yeah.. we did the video and crossing our fingers that we would win first place or at least top three, so that we would get the spa and *coughs*MYBLACKBERRY*coughs*

BUT NO. WE DID NOT WIN. WE DID NOT LOSE EITHER.

THEY STRAIGHT CANCEL THE WHOLE CONTEST!
There goes my hope of getting the Blackberry from Andrew. Gah..

Yeap, after all participating members submit their videos and they just gave them this.

JUST A SPA FOR TWO.

Can you believe it? Andrew then emailed them to let them know how disappointed and they cannot do this and bla bla. They just replied, "Sorry for any inconvenience caused!" It's like WHAT? Poor Andrew. He was very into this whole shoot and spent quite a lot of moolahs in it. So, when Andrew got this spa thing, he didn't want to go so he gave it to both of us! Nah, ANDREW CHAN WEI KIN! Here's your credit! Hahaha! THANK YOUUU! :)

The voucher also hold terbalik. We were looking forward to the massage after a long working week.

Anyways, after Koay reminded me, we made an appointment on Saturday noon and I went googling to see what was included in this package worth RM660.

Ultimate Spa Packages (2 hours)

- 45mins massage (done by two Filipino women)
- Body Scrub/ Body Mask (did not manage to see the product used)
- Jacuzzi with European Herbal Bath (I cannot believe they actually say EUROPEAN HERBAL BATH! Hello, we saw a bottle of Tesco Body Shampoo or something okay. Green color and looked like a dishwashing soap!)
- Footbath (Definitely nothing near a bath! Just put in hot water for few minutes and scrub here and there..)

We were supposed to be completely nude for the massage and jacuzzi dipping. But no thanks. So, we asked them for towels. Haha. This kind of spa is perfect for married couples. NOT US for sure! Anyways, we sat in the jacuzzi for a good 40 minutes WITH TOWELS, sipping away carbonated papaya juice (yuck much!) and talked and laughed and relaxed. The massage was okay. We went home feeling hmm.. feeling that our body was gonna ache the next day. And true enough when we woke up next day, manyak sakit.

Will we go back there for this kind of spa?

Nope. Totally not worth the money.

RM330 per person.

Take that money go Hatyai for shopping and full body massage and eat non-stop better.

And that was our Saturday noon. Quite fun experiencing new things like that together. And we love love love love LOVE their garden themed restaurant. *grins*
