The Abandoned Pulau Tikus.

This is a long overdue post.

Twenty nine days ago. Can you figure out when?

It was a spontaneous thing. We wanted to do something but couldn't agree on one thing until someone suggested kayaking!

We went to the Penang Water Sports Centre at Tanjung Bungah but it was closed. Should open on Public Holiday right? Maybe no one wants to work on Thaipusam day. So, we googled and made some calls to find out that there is another place that might have kayaks for rental.

It's called The Lost Paradise Resort, not very far from Penang Water Sports Centre. We parked our cars and met with the owner of the resort. He told us that the kayaks are for in-house guests only. To cut the story short, he was okay to rent us the kayaks but we didn't take it because we were short of one kayak.

No man shall be left behind so we decided as a group that we would go to another place. This time, our source told us that the Sports Corner behind Flamingo Hotel does not only rent out banana boats, para-sailing and other motor sports stuff. We thought it would be super pricey but decided to give it a try nonetheless.

We went there and bargained with the uncle and finally he gave us a go at RM15 per person for one hour. Can extend another half an hour too! Good deal right?

I thought that it was pretty cheap, given that he was so lenient with the duration that was given to us and also  their kayaks so new and bright in colors. Win.

We paired up quickly and agreed to kayak all the way to the island. That famous island, also known as Pulau Tikus. The story was that the island used to be infested with rats, hence the name.

This abandoned island doesn't seem to be so far away, right? Wrong! It's so far okay. We kayak so long d still cannot reach. So torturing. Heh. Quite scary if I can say. I don't have a phobia of being out at the sea but I am quite afraid when it's only us and no one else is around. It feels like sharks can just jump out and eat us.

I blame all those shark movies. People say there won't be any sharks here, too shallow lah, too dirty lah but still! You never know what's underneath! Never know! It's a territory that is so unpredictable and mysterious.

We got there and found the uncle who rented us the kayaks, already there. So unfit all of us. He was walking towards the rocks with a hammer and a screwdriver in his hands.

"Anyone eats fresh oyster?"

We looked at each other and hesitated a "Yes..?"

I was quite reluctant to try it because no Tabasco sauce and no lemon okay. This is like super fresh from the sea kind. What if I hate it and forever scared of eating fresh oysters? Turns out, it was yummy and really fresh. Taste of the sea. Hmm..

It takes quite a while to persuade these two to try it out. What is this man. I thought you guys are adventurous? Heh. They were so scared that they didn't want to chew it. Just wanted to swallow it. What's the point right? Hah.

The uncle took us on some mini-exploration-trip on the island. There is a graveyard on top of the island. Probably just a few big rocks above in a sheltered house. A grave of a Muslim man who is believed to have found the island or something. Quite eerie actually because there is like a cloth on top of the cemented grave but at first glance, it looks like a coffin. So yeah.

We walked around and just kinda chilled while the uncle goes hunting for more oysters for himself. Heh.

We (only Andrew, Joshua and I actually) soaked in the water because the rest scared of jellyfish, others took photos of sunset and Gary blocking the sunset and just don't know do what else. Hah.

It was time to kayak back to our favorite island and I initially thought that it was going to a tough one because my arms were already starting to sore and also feeling a bit lazy after the water-soaking session.

He did most of the kayaking because he insisted that I just sit back and enjoy the rest of the sunset. Best.

My favorite photo of that day below. My sister, Vanessa takes the best photos of both of us. She just knows when to get that camera rolling. Heh. For sure worth investing a good camera-of-her-dreams for her but now, no money so cannot yet.

AYC Fast & Prayer 2014.

Last year, I didn't manage to get any annual leave to go for the yearly Fast & Prayer so this year, I made sure I reserved some.

There were only 15 of us this year, making our way up to Bethel House of Prayer. The least compared to previous years I think.

However, I do think that this year's was one of the most fun ones that I've ever been to.

I love how we are all closely together at all times. There weren't any time where we were separated into different corners and having our own 'group' sessions. Okay, except prayer time lah.

We were all either at the porch outside sharing our junk food when we break the fast because dinner was only served one hour later, or around the dining table during meal times and laughing at someone (most of the time it was Chrissy a.k.a. Ben!).

Fun times. It was one of the occasions where I laughed so hard in the span of two days.

Also, we had spontaneous mash ups with worship songs and it went on non-stop for a good 40 minutes which felt like 15 minutes. No worship leaders, no pointers. BEST ONE EVER.

Even when the G-string (on the guitar!) broke, we didn't stop. Heh.

We,

prayed
worshipped
laughed non-stop
played mafia
pranked Sheryl twice
ate a lot of junk food
laughed again
prayed for Lester (he got bitten by a 1-feet-long bright pinkish red centipede on the way up. He's a lot better now and resting. SPEEDY RECOVERY, LESTER!)
'tried' to cook 30 eggs.

TOGETHER :)

Such a needed short getaway :)

Planning Ahead, Syiok.

So, there is already something brewing for next year's holiday plan in the month of FEBRUARY.

This better happen.

I'm excited already, though money haven't generate enough yet. Hah.

Anyways, HAPPY DEEPAVALI everyone.

Have a great off day tomorrow. You all deserved it :)

It's going to be "ALL NIGHT LONGGGG!"

Because tomorrow PUBLIC HOLIDAY YEAH!

The Khoo clan had planned out a cycling trip around Georgetown but seems like weather is going to win this time. Hopefully not though.

I've been looking forward to this for weeks!

Real Room Escape: Break The Code.

If you read my blog often, you would know that I try my best to plan things to do during public holidays. It could be roadtrips, food trip or just anything.

This time, I saw a great deal on Groupon on this interesting adventure. Normal price usually about RM30+ per person right, Groupon is selling at only RM25 per person.

Since we've always wanted to try this out but never did because so expensive, I thought that the replacement holiday could use an activity. So, I went ahead and bought for 12 people. Crazy hor.

Koay even 'questioned' me because I straight buy for 12 people without having 12 people saying yes to this activity. Haha.

At first, I was quite nervous because I was either lacking of one or two people, but thank God all spaces were filled. Heh.

So, we met at Belisa Row at 3:30pm and since maximum number of people allowed in one category/room is up to 8 people, we decided to split into two groups.

The Crazy Lab (zombie apocalypse) and Detective X.

It is said that Detective X is the hardest of all four and Crazy Lab is probably the second hardest.

We picked our category and started our adventure.

Detective X
Adrian//Eulene//Joshua//Le Anne//Le Roy//Sarah

Crazy Lab
Angeline//Baxster//Ben//Jesher//Nehemiah//Nikki

Both teams did not manage to complete it within 60 minutes. Boohoo. We were all so close to the finishing line. SO CLOSE OKAY! If only we have extra 30 minutes. If only.

I don't know about the Crazy Lab, but for Detective X, everything looked so real in it and all the clues were amazing. We have 3 hints which mean when we press on the bell, a helper will come in and help us solve a 'puzzle' by giving us hints etc. A few times, I was mind blown. The clues/puzzles all very clever lah. Love it!

Goofing around with the props. Ben is definitely having a lot of fun :)

Celebrity shot with our Nikki Minaj. This photo makes my day, anytime. Siau lang.

I'm quite adventurous in trying out new hairstyle. This one big no-no.

It was only one hour, but it was filled with so much fun. More fun than I expected.

Ahh, another Public Holiday well spent :)

Next Public Holiday will be spent out of Penang! EIGHT more days till vacation! :)

Public Holiday Best Gilerr.

*dances around while humming a random song*

Just because it's a Public Holiday tomorrow.

Public Holiday usually means roadtrip or doing fun things with a lot of people or with just the two of us. But usually, spend holidays with a bunch of people a lot nicer, don't know why.

Oh! And also can sleep until the sun comes up. No need to set alarm clock.

I think that moment when you turn off the alarm clock in your phone is probably one of the best feeling. Serious.

Then again, tomorrow still have to set alarm clock because got breakfast session with all the relatives before our Annual Family Badminton 2014 kickoff.

After that, it's Bowling Competition with Koay's side of the family. I think it's going to be Girls vs Boys. Hmm..

Such an eventful day tomorrow. What is rest guys?

I'm quite excited lah actually. Confirm lose d since my team all can't really play eh, although Koay is our team captain. I myself play like what only. Haha.

Oh wellz.

Thank God it's Labour Day tomorrow!

Last year's Labor Day quite happening also actually. I'm totally enjoying to the fullest this day that is created for all those who works.

Nail Gone Wrong.

I did my own pedicure two nights ago and it turned out pretty nice :)

I did my own manicure last night and when I woke up this morning, it became a disaster. SUCH PAIN IN THE EYE :(

I must have slept through the night like a baby that I didn't realize I was smudging it with other fingers.

Pretty nails is very comforting, but once it turns ugly, it makes me angry. Arghh.

I just called like all the nail salon at town area and all is either fully booked or they charge like RM50 for just a manicure session. NORMAL PRICE IS RM30!

Then I called the one in Gurney Paragon, Chez Nail and they only charge at RM45. RM5 cheaper than the rest, WHY NOT!

Dear nails of mine, don't worry. Few more hours to getting you all fixed and looking all pretty when collecting angpows :)

ONE MORE SLEEP TO QONG XI QONG XI!

My Public-Holiday Tuesday.

Let's start from the night before since Monday night was the start of the holiday mode.

Barbeque by the beach was happening at around 6.30pm and after setting up almost everything and finally get some stuff cooking, it started to pour like no one's business. Run for our lives to a landed property/home-schooled house. We ended up cooking all the raw stuff with oven and gas. Stir fry, deep fry, grill, baked. You named it. We prolly did it.

It's times like these that makes people remember of the night, although I would still prefer if we could have spent the entire night by the salt water. Oh wellz.

So, Monday night was pretty fun, wet, messy and filled with lots of laughter.

Tuesday!

Woke up near lunch time. BOY THAT FEELS SOOO GOOD!

We helped our friends from KDU College to do some "Need or Need Not" video. Let me tell you something. Acting is not tough. Acting is VERYYYY tough! I don't know how the pros do it but for me, it sure felt like torture to turn myself into another mode, which in this case was an angry annoyed mom shouting at her daughter for being annoyingly noisy and stuff. Yeah, scolding loudly in the public. Hence, the video's theme, "Need or Need Not"

After that, we went all touristy to The History Museum. Photos are all in random orders. Then, went for some coffee chocolate iced cube milk and japonaise cake. Got back home and managed to close our eyes for a good 30 minutes, then off we went to the other side of the island for dinner! Last minute movie since we don't know what else to do in the mall.

Such a long drive home and got so tired that I almost didn't want to bathe before I jumped onto my bed. Of course I bathed in the end!

Waking up this morning was err..

Oh well, few more days to the weekend again. Still got 2 days before this person re-adjust the working mode :)

Painful Massage.

Oh what a weekend it has been.

The highlight of this one would be the trip to Rejeune with my sister on Saturday. I actually had to forgo a training in church because she had to bring someone and this isn't like any normal massage.

It's called Deep Meridian Full Body Therapy.

Effects: Deep penetration through full body dredging of meridians to unblock blood vessels, nourishes internal organ cells, to achieve skin rejuvenation from the inside out and strengthen immune system.

This is not a relaxing-kind-of-massage where you fall asleep halfway. This is torture.

Yep, from the start till the end, i remembered being in my most intense self-defensive mode, though most of the times I tried my best to not let out any "Ouch!" or "Please go softer!"

And this massage covers EVERY part of the body. Quite comfortable right after it ended, but not one day later. Now I can still feel some soreness here and there.

Basically, it helps in smoothen out the blood flow in the body and stuff. A lot of pain everywhere just means that the blood flow in that area has been not so good hence the pain. Some people even have bruises, like my sister. No thanks for me :)

So yeah, painful weekend.

Working today was pretty tough but then tomorrow holiday again. Syiokk!

Tonight barbeque by the beach sumore. Double syiokk!

:)

A Gift From Patong.

I got my first football jersey top/blouse from the boy yesterday.

Obviously, it's Manchester United printed. I love how bright the color is (though I'm not a big fan of fluoroscent bright colors), however this one is pretty nice.

Just how I like it. Colorful and upbeat-ish :)

It's a lil too big now for me? I don't know.. Some areas are lose and some other places, it's just pretty tight. And it's a pretty long top.

So for now it's my pajamas. Quite comfy to sleep in. Quite.

Thank you, you long-eye-lashes-with-such-a-big-tukau-head-that-has-weird-hairstyle-allthetime-and-a-big-heart-for-people-and-your-super-kiau-butt-for-a-guy-but-I-still-love-you-boy!

LOVE YOU LONG TIME.

25 July 2013

Really Thanked God It's Friday Tomorrow.

Have I mentioned that I'm totally too way over the top happy and glad that it's holiday for my office tomorrow?

Have I also mentioned that the holiday is already planned and I'm so excited though it's a simple spending time with people who matters?

Have I?

HAVE I?

24 June 2013

Rode The Night Away.

Monday is here again. Waking up this morning was a lil harder than usual. Snoozed the alarm three times before I actually forced myself to get to the bathroom. It just seemed like the 7 hours of snoozing is not enough. Feeling a lil more tired compared to other weekends. Hopefully the boy hasn't passed his virus to me, and praying hard this body system is stronger to fight back those things.

So yeah. The weekends that flew all of us by. Quite a fun packed weekend I must say.

We went cycling around town at night, after trying to get the bicycle for close to an hour. I think we spent more time getting there, finding a carpark and renting 6 not very safely-functioning-bicycles. We went to few touristy spots and took some photos. RM15 for 24 hours. That's pretty okay if we actually used them for more than 2 hours. Will I rent and go for night cycling again? Definitely not. Unless I don't have to pay for the rent la. But, overall, it was a fun night :)

And then, I decided to go for a haircut on Saturday. A HUGE transformation that I have been waiting for one week. Supposed to get them done a week ago but had to reschedule that due to a family photoshoot. A year ago, I did exactly the same thing. That random and spontaneous feeling. Gotta do what I gotta do. Haha.

Sunday was pretty alright. Koay's family came to church for the second time :) We went to see the photos that we all did last week as a whole family :)

For now, please stay indoor as long as you can. Jerebu sudah datang ke pulau ini. And drink lots of water people. Stay safe and stay strong! :)
