Hotel The M's Kyoto, Kyoto, Japan.

Staycations are the best, especially the ones outside of the country. Heh.

As you may or may not know, everytime we travel, I am in-charge of finding the best deals hotel - which is something I really love doing.

This is no different for our Japan's trip many moons ago. Our first prefecture was Kyoto, and because I know that it is important to stay near the main train station, it was the most important criteria.

Then, cleanliness and pretty come next.

We stayed 3 nights here, and paid a total of RM938.80 for a queen room via Agoda. They gave us the highest floor, so that is a big win ya. We requested for it, and we got it.

I always tell people, that when you go for hotel stays or checking in for a flight to somewhere, never be shy to ask for something you want.

"Do you have a complimentary upgrade of our room?"
"Can you give me a room with a good view?"
"Any free upgrade to business class?"

If you don't ask, then you will never get. If you ask, then you may (small percentage is still a chance) get. So, that's my go-to mantra. Hah.

I love the modern style of design in their hotel lobby and rooms. They don't have a cafe or a restaurant, but they did up the lounge area so nicely for people to hang out and use.

For pyjamas, toothbrush and other amenities, you got to take them by yourself at the lobby. So take what you need, and not for souvenirs to take home please. They testing Asians' self-control. Hah. Their PJs is the best, most comfiest ever. I almost want to just pay to bring them home. Super comfy!

Sorry no photos of the room but got video (scroll below).

Till next update, bye now.

Bring me back to Japan please.

La Pari-Pari Langkawi Hotel, Langkawi, Kedah, Malaysia.

This is so overdue but no shame. It takes a bit more effort now to write and publish a post. I don't want to simply publish any post for the sake of publishing them. Must wait for the blogging mojo. Hah.

Anyways, we had a short family vacation at Langkawi Island a while back, and initially we wanted to stay at a hotel along Cenang Beach. We didn't in the end. The hotels were either a bit too rundown for our liking or way too over our budget.

We looked further and decided to try Parkroyal Langkawi, but in the end, we saw La Pari-Pari and their good reviews, and decided to try them instead.

The location is also very strategic - not far from Cenang Beach at all.

The room is quite nice but don't expect fancy-schmancy decorations. For us, it was quite good. They provided a beach bag for 2 people in each room. The bag comes with a beach mat, towels and other things that I no longer can remember. Heh.

We spent 2 nights here, and I remembered being comfortable in the room. The 2 kids definitely were more comfortable than Adrian and I since they conquered the entire bed. Adam slept in a separate baby cot.

Here's a quick video of the room tour.

Oh, and the food in their hotel is yummy too. Our room does not come with breakfast. We paid a total of RM648 for 2-nights per room.

Till next time, bye now.

3D2N Ho Chi Minh with Talent Trust (Company Trip).

This year's August would be my second year anniversary with Talent Trust, and it has been such a rewarding and fulfilling journey growing with the team and the company. Work has its own set of challenges and I do love myself some challenges heh, and with the company growing, our team is also growing and I love it.

I love that we help missionaries be their best. I love that our focus is to make sure that missionaries know that we want to take care of them physically, mentally and financially. We are not an insurance company, just "selling insurance" to people.

We are on this journey with them, and it's just truly amazing.

Okay enough about that.

So, the whole company went to Ho Chi Minh for a quick getaway and it was my first trip with them. I love travelling and getting to travel with them was nice. We got to spend time with each other outside of the office, doing life together.

Although it was a really short trip, it was very nice to refresh and relax. I love the hotel that we were staying because it was close to the Ben Thanh market, the Saigon Square and lots of eateries and cafes nearby. Super strategic.

Hotel room was basic, and clean. Their buffet breakfast spread was amazing. Their service, five stars rating please. Everything is good with this one. Too bad I forgot to take a photo and a video of the room tour. Boo.

We did a walking tour, organised by Andrew and then we also went for a cooking class - which I really like! We cooked some local catfish dish, Vietnamese mango salad and Vietnamese pancake (Banh Xeo).

So yummy and cooking is really a tiring sport. It was hot in the kitchen, and we were sweaty, but getting to do them in a group was so much fun.

We of course did some shopping - not too bad damage if you are curious. Heh. So yeah, short but fun trip.

Till next travel, bye now.
