Chek Hup 3in1 Ipoh White Coffee.

What a funny/weird/random update today huh?

I decided to write about my experience with Chek Hup just because.

Not that I have some unique experience with this brand lah.

I just wanted to update about something and this somehow caught my attention for today.

So, I was the one who did the shopping for all the snack items during my company's trip weeks ago. I went to Tesco to get the stuff and when I was looking to get coffee, I was stuck. I was literally standing in front of those packed coffee and stared at it for a good 2 minutes.

How to know which brand is good?

I need to get a packet of no sugar one and then less sugar another packet.

Believe it or not, I left Tesco without any coffee in my trolley. WITHOUT.

After seeking help from my colleagues, they gave me specific brand to get so I drove to Sam's Groceria and got Chek Hup. One packet no sugar, means 2in1 and another one packet with sugar, 3in1 but less sugar one.

Good thing I didn't get them at Tesco because it was fifty cents cheaper at Sam's Groceria. So, I got the coffee and thought that the packaging looked pretty nice.

We didn't finish the coffee over at Cameron Highlands so we brought it back. We still have a lot of it actually! I took one 3in1 and decided to give it a try.

So not me okay. It's really true that packaging does wonder to you. I only wanted to try because I like looking at the packaging. Not so much on the individual packets one, but the big one.

Anyways, I came back from sales and was feeling exceptionally thirsty and decided to give this a try.

I usually don't like my coffee hot and even more so when I was feeling super thirsty. So, I mixed it up with some hot  water and then campur iced cold water in.

First swallow was amazing! The aroma of the white coffee is superb! Love it so much that I finished half of it on the second 'sip'!

Maybe I was too thirsty lah that's why swallowed so much but it was really good.

In fact, it was my first time finishing the whole cup of coffee by myself in the office. It's good. Really good.

Side note: like my new manicure? I've always loved French style. This one is gel manicure sumore, so longer lasting it is :)))

Renewing that Red Book.

why?
Your passport has less than six (6) months validity to your date of travel or it had already expired long time.

Where?
Pejabat Imigresen Georgetown.

When?
Monday to Friday from 7:30am to 5:30pm.

How?
The office opens at 7:30am, so you can be there by 7:25am and get in line to take the number. To get the number from the officer, you have to present your current passport and Identification Card, then only you will be given a number.

All you do after you get your number is to wait. Try to find a seat if can. Usually, the staffs move slower in the morning no idea why. So, be prepared to wait for quite some time there. Of course if you see an elderly person needing a seat, you should must get up and offer yours. Manners first people. Manners.

When I got my number, I almost drop to the floor. There's 134 people before me leh! It's crazy. I waited in there for a while but it got too crowded so I stood outside for a while. Then, I was thinking of the things that I need to have to renew my passport and remembered that I need to have two pieces of my recent passport photos.

Not wanting to waste time and since I have so much time doing nothing other than standing by the side of the road, I walked to the Sri Weld Food Court to get my passport photo done. There's one small shop at the side of it.

The shop owner told me that now no need to prepare passport photo beforehand. Everything will be done at the booth inside the office. Not very clear of what he meant, I walked back to the office. This time, I walked further inside until I saw the booth and then only knew what that shop owner was talking about.

When they call for your number, go up to the booth, give them your passport and IC. Then, they will ask you to sit down in front of the camera and sit up straight.

As you sit there and stare at the camera lens, the people waiting around are also probably staring at you. ONE OF THE MOST AWKWARD SITUATION TO BE IN. That lasted for like 2 minutes then you will be asked to wait for another booth/officer to call out your name.

Then, they will ask you a few questions like your mobile number and your current address etc to update your profile. They will also ask if you would like to renew your passport for:

2 years - RM100
5 years - RM300

I did mine for 5 years. No way I want to go through this again. Waiting for hours. Madness.

After that, they will ask you to wait (again!) to make your payment. So, I waited again. Most of the wait happened while standing. VERY LIMITED CHAIRS.

I had one chair to myself for a good 12 minutes then I gave it up to an elderly woman who obviously needed the chair more than I do. My legs can still manage my weight and I'm still young okay. So yeah. GIVE YOUR CHAIR TO SENIOR CITIZEN PLEASE. There were so many young adults who were sitting down. Probably cos they can move faster towards the seat whenever someone gets up. Seriously..

Anyways, I paid RM300 to a lady also named, 'Sarah'. I know because when she called my name, she gave me the warmest smile. I couldn't tell why because she seemed to be annoyed with the previous person until I saw it on her name tag :)

Then, she will give me a receipt with the 'time to collect passport' on it. Mine was stated at 1:45pm but since I had things to do, I came only at 3:10pm. (I spent about 20 minutes going around the area looking for a parking space!).

When you go back to collect your passport, you have to show the receipt paper to the counter where you first take your number in the morning. He will then give you a new number for your passport collection which only operates at Booth 8.

Sixteen people before me. Not so bad. At least it's two digits, not three.

This time, I only waited for less than 30 minutes and it's done.

All done.

Phewww.

Whole morning and partial noon gone just to renew the red book. Please, if you need to renew your passport, DO IT FOR 5 YEARS.

I'm excited for November to come already. It's super exciting. More on that later. You might already know through my Instagram or Facebook or Twitter but you don't know where! Muahaha.

Till then :)

07 October 2014

Three Days of Goodness.

The only Public Holiday this year that I didn't go out of the island, I think.

It's also the only Public Holiday this year that I actually slept in until 11am.

The Khoo Clan's cycling trip was on but I was too tired and sleepy to join so I skipped that.

Just when I thought the whole day was just going to be relaxing kind of day, Koay planned a trip to the gym.

Free trial rocks! :)

Spent two hours working out, talking, and RPM-ing.

Now I know why people would spend hundreds per session for an hour with a trainer. It really works better like that. If I ever subscribe to a gym membership, it would be Absolute Fitness and I will need a trainer. Can be guy or girl, doesn't matter as long as they are a professional trainer! Heh.

Anyways, my weekend and Monday was fun-filled with activities and events and bonding time. Love ittt.

October is a fun month guys. All the upcoming getaways. Ahhhhh it's so nice! :)))

Wedding dinner at Eastin Hotel. Red wine for me and wiski for him :)

AYC promo trip to Prai Church!

My favorite thing to do in gym now: ROWING.

Bonding session with the mama. Gel mani/pedi FTW.

Fruitful week it has been.

Thank You Jesus for providing :)

05 October 2014

Sunday Fun Day.

What an eventful today it has been.

Started at 7:24am and doubt the night will end early tonight.

It's going to be "ALL NIGHT LONGGGG!"

Because tomorrow PUBLIC HOLIDAY YEAH!

The Khoo clan had planned out a cycling trip around Georgetown but seems like weather is going to win this time. Hopefully not though.

I've been looking forward to this for weeks!

JESUS HOLD THE RAIN PLEASE!

Alright, off I go now.

See you sooooon!

:)

2D1N Cameron Highlands.

for Holiday Tours & Travel's Company Trip.
with 1 employer and 24 employees.
on the 27-28 September 2014.

It turned out to be more fun than what I initially expected. I was quite reluctant to go for this trip at first but I'm thankful that I went in the end.

It is a trip that made my whole two years here worthwhile and passed really fast. The one night I had with these bunch of people made me want to stay in this company longer that planned. Not that I have plans to leave the company heh.

Also, this is the company's very first company trip. It's nice to know that I'm one of the people who suggested it, alongside with Jayne.

It feels great! :)

Going to work doesn't seem that bad anymore when now we are all closer with one another.

Thank You God for keeping Your promises.

:)

30 September 2014

Sometime by Asian Designers.

When I hit the two years' mark being a working woman in August, I suddenly became obsessed with handbags. I am not like those girls who have the eyes of fashion or something. They see one bag and immediately got like the whole review at the back of their mind or they can already picture it with whatever clothes that they have.

I consider myself in the category of know-very-little-and-don't-really-care-of-fashion.

I don't know how to dress-me-up according to trends whatsoever.

So I buy whatever I see is nice. Simple and nice. Or maybe sometimes get weird things when I'm in the mood. Other than that, I really play it safe for fashion. Or boring in another word. As long as comfortable, I'm happy already. And most importantly, it can keep things, a lot of things. Must be user-friendly. Haha user friendly like iPhone. Kiddingsss. Please don't start the phone-debate-war here. Ain't nobody got time for that.

Okaylah, I wouldn't call myself obsessed with handbags but I find myself searching for handbags more often now when I'm in the malls. I tend to want to spend on handbags than something else. Super weird. The last thing I will ever want to look at is bags. I don't have any liking to getting handbags. Or maybe I don't have good taste lah and most bags I buy last time all not very good-looking eh. Oh well.

Last week, I stumbled upon this website through a photo that I saw in Facebook. I clicked on it and my life changed. Haha.

I saw the bags and I was in love all over again.

I spent quite some time exploring and getting to know what this is all about.

Taken from their website:
Sometime • By Asian Designers exists to endorse and promote talented fashion designers and icons across Asia. The brand objective is to connect and build a community of established individuals across the discipline of fashion. The focus is on practical solution driven ideas, production resources and creative assistance to produce one of the most universal fashion accessories in the market – bags.

Sometime • By Asian Designers directs its own dedicated production line of 28 specialized bag makers with years of experience to produce bags that are exclusively designed and inspired by selected talents and designers across Asia. Led by a few veteran production heads, this is the very same factory that produces bags for some of the famous designer handbag labels in the market.

OUR SEMI HANDMADE BAGS ARE PERFECTLY IMPERFECT - ATTENTION TO DETAIL YOU CAN FEEL

Machines are overrated. Our heads of production believe that every bag requires that human touch to craft and assemble, something that machines are not able to achieve entirely. This assures the intricacy and durability of the end product, with a personal touch that you will feel.
Few reasons why I love these 'brands'.

They are all designed by our very own Asian Designers and they are affordable. I cannot afford to get international brands like Louis Vuitton now or ever will since they are ridiculously so expensive. I don't know if I ever want to spend four-digits on a single bag when I can spend them on so many other bags that are also of designers level. Heh.

Of course I didn't think like that before I found Sometime. I was aiming to get few branded bags that can last long since I never really like changing bags that often. Not until this.

I didn't make a rush decision though. I was really thinking about it whether I should get the Christy Ng's bag. It's not that much of money but to spend more than a hundred on a bag is so out of my zone.

It's not that I'm stingy. It's just sometimes I rather spend that money on food or holidays. And especially after the 'little' incident with my orange handbag. Sudah takut ni. Story is down below. Read on!

Amazing how Sometime changed my 'spending priority' now. Dangerous I tell you. Self control is needed.

Anyways, after many times of going in and out of the website, I finally gathered enough courage to click Add to Cart, then Checkout. I then proceeded to make the payment and when the order was confirmed, I was a happy girl.

Feels so gooood okay.

The first bag that I bought with my first salary was an orange bag from Charles & Keith.

Some background on this brand. I find it important now to find out the brands you buy. Anyways, the name is so because it is founded by brothers named Charles and Keith Wong. The brand was initially focused on ladies footwear but has expanded to accessories like handbags, belts etc. Over the years, this brand has grown so much and known to many in major countries like Japan, Indonesia, Dubai, China and more. People know what Charles & Keith is. People know.

The orange bag that caught my eye that time costs around RM200 plus. Obviously I took care of the bag like it's a baby or something. Despite me being careful with the bag and make sure it's well taken care of, the color faded and came off and the bag became so ugly. I was so sad because it's just nonsense lah. It didn't even last for more than 2 years. One year also don't know got reach or not.

I concluded that Charles & Keith's bags are horrible in quality. They may be nice to look at but for sure cannot last one. Wasted my money only. I grew to really love that orange bag okay. Now, it's lying in my cupboard collecting dust. Maybe because handbag is not their main product. Then again, Christy Ng is ALSO known for making pretty shoes first. GG.

I hope (really hope!) that this Companion II - Brown last longer than my expectation. Oh! One more thing that made me love this bag is because they have zips! The orange bag didn't have any zips and it was so difficult for me to bring along when I go travel. Go Tesco also, people can put their hands in it without me knowing, while I'm carrying the bag sumore!

 So yes.

The bag also arrived faster than I thought. I think it took them less than 3 days and when I came home from Cameron Highlands on Sunday, it was already on my table all wrapped up.

I jumped at the sight of it, literally. Koay also terkejut I think.

Also, they don't produce these bags in bulk. They only have limited numbers to each design and when I got the brown one, the SOLD OUT status appeared for the brown one. So yeah. Not many people in the world will have this bag. Only a handful! That makes me feel special. Hah. LIMITED EDITION OKAY.

Oh ya. Do you also know delivery is FREE of charge? Mmhmm. Poslaju from Kuala Lumpur to Pulau Pinang.

Ahh, it only gets better. My new favorite website now.

Coming soon would be bags designed by Sazzy Falak herself.

Let's all support the Asian Designers by getting their bags/shoes etc. So affordable and pretty.

Thank you Sometime for making a girl happy today :)
