Planning Ahead, Syiok.

So, there is already something brewing for next year's holiday plan in the month of FEBRUARY.

This better happen.

I'm excited already, though money haven't generate enough yet. Hah.

Anyways, HAPPY DEEPAVALI everyone.

Have a great off day tomorrow. You all deserved it :)

20 October 2014

More Off Days Please.

Off days are supposed to be doing fun things at own pace and timing, using less of brain power, have more sleeps and feeling very relaxed.

Off days include weekends, public holidays, medical leave and replacement holidays.

Unfortunately for me, it has been countless of weekends that does not at one bit feels like off days.

Fortunately for me, most of those weekends are surrounded with people I less than three and doing things that I enjoy.

This weekend though seemed to be the most tiring so far.

So tiring that I woke up today wishing that it was Sunday. Not because I needed more sleep, but because I really need one off day.

Countdown to upcoming off days: seventy two hours.

Then again, am I really ready to conquer this Gunung ah?

Highest mountain in Cameron Highlands.
15th highest mountain in Malaysia.

No, I don't think so. Honestly it's going to be one of the craziest thing in my list, considering that I did not train prior to this. I'm nowhere near the requirements that my body supposed to have to climb 2110 metres high.

Gosh, the only 'training' I had was the youth park one that we went weeks ago and that also I did until number 3 only. In my defense, I had period that time and I was not feeling too well. Heh.

Ready or not, here we come, Irau.

You better get ready because by hook and by crook, I ain't backing down.

Determination, check.

No photo of me being at the peak of this mountain, NO COMING HOME! :)

Wednesday-Thursday-Friday.

This place has been quiet for so many days?

I didn't even realize..

That's how F1-fast time passed through me..

Let's go through the days just because I don't know what to blog about today and I'm feeling a little bit under the weather to need to do something that requires a lot of brain power.

Then, I realized that trying to think through my happenings for the past few days requires probably same amount of brain power.

Oh well.

Wednesday
- Drove to office earlier than usual days and parked at the nearest spot I could find.
- Walked to the Dim Sum Restaurant opposite KDU College to get meself some ham+pork floss buns. I don't like pork floss (bak hu) but this is the only exception because it's super yummy.
- Walked back to the office and waited for Jayne.
- Carpooled with her to Kulim for a corporate roadshow.
- We relied on Waze 100% to get to Entegris.
- Set up the booth which includes wiping the rice + curry stained tables.
- During break time, I decided to get this blog a domain. Paid and thought I did everything rightly, but the domain ain't showing anything else other than Godaddy's page.
- Decided to leave it for few hours cos maybe it needs hours before it's activated.
- Left Entegris in the evening and went to another corporate to collect cheque, also with Waze and only Waze.
- Got home, changed and rushed to Gurney Paragon Mall for momzay's birthday dinner.

- I had my cold soba again.
- Checked the domain again and same thing.
- Sent an emergency whatsapp to Ben and gave him all my information.
- Drove to Karpal Singh Drive and had coffee-relaxing-time at the Coffee Smith, which soon you will see how we review them.
- Ben whatsapp-ed back and said, "It works now". I can finally breathe again.
- Got home and lied flat. Oh, of course I showered first.

Thursday
- Finalize the US visa application online and check on certain things.
- Left office with the big boss to Prai for a corporate lunch with a secretary and the GM, Finance Director.
- It turns out to be a fun car ride with the boss. Not what i thought it would be - awkward.
- Had choo char at a local kopitiam, only people who works in Prai would know.
- My aircon decided to be on strike on the day my boss sits my car.
- She was drenched in sweat. I'm sorry!
- Rested in the office for 20 minutes then attended the sales meeting from 3pm to 7pm.
- Fetched Koay and head back to take a shower.
- I had Stuffed Fish for dinner which I regretted after the fourth bite.
- Back to his house for a friendly mahjong session with his family.

Friday.
- More US visa applications came in.
- Songs on Youtube is loading and surprisingly really quickly.
- With one earphone in my left ear, I'm singing it out, no shame whatsoever if my colleagues are listening.
- It's Friday so that means the working mode is in blinking green light. Anytime, can turn red.
- Lunch at the economy rice shop opposite First Avenue with my fellow Gunung Irau's climbers :)
- Drove to Prai with his car via ferry.
- First time there were 8 lanes heading to mainland.
- Rained cats and dogs so I decided to come back via the bridge. Scared the sea gets too choppy or the ferry turns over and sink somehow. Hah.
- Trying to think very hard where I put the receipts for my car's visit to the mechanic.
- Waiting so impatiently to go home. I JUST WANT TO GO HOME NOW.

THE END.

Garden/Beach Wedding at ParkRoyal Hotel, Penang.

I mentioned once in Facebook I think that I love love love attending wedding events. I love looking at the beautiful bride and handsome groom and be part of the joyous celebration. Even if I don't know anybody else there, I will still enjoy myself. It's like I'm often in my own world when I'm there.

Of course for the food also. The typical weddings that I've ever attended are the chinese version where guests are served with an eight course meal, which by the end of the 7th dish, the glutinous rice, the stomach is already ready to explode.

There's just something about the eight course meal that I really love.

Months ago, I was notified by Koay that I am also invited to his cousin's wedding. His mom's sister's only daughter. I was happy.

Then, I saw the wedding card and happy is definitely an understatement.

Under the Venue title wrote the word BEACH and SEMI FORMAL.

Believe it or not, I immediately put a note on my Calendar just in case I forgot about it and booked another plan that day.

When the day finally came, the whole family woke up at 5:30am and took turns to get ready. First time ever wake up so early and have to do makeup all sumore, such funny feeling. I was quite awake though seriously need more sleep. Excitement does wonder I tell you. Oh, and I was wearing a piece of jumpsuit I got in Malacca. It looked like a mini dress but it's actually pants. So comfy.

We reached ParkRoyal Hotel at about 7am, helped to set some things around. When we got to the garden, I realized it's not at the beach like on the sand and stuff. Though its view is towards the beach.

Anyways, the place looked amazing! It was all so simple and nice.

We hang around for a bit, greeted the guests and waited for the bride to come. She finally came and walked down the beautiful aisle with her dad.

It was a Christian wedding ceremony so everything was kept simple. It was a small scale wedding. Only 60 people were invited.

After the ceremony, we had our brunch underneath those pretty trees. It was hazy but cloudy. Sort of. The sun came up once in a while but when it was nearing to 11am, the sun disappeared and the weather was perfect. Seriously, everything just fit rightly.

It was one of the simplest yet meaningful wedding I have ever attended. Although i had to sacrifice my mom's heels :(

Oh well.. Congratulations Emmanuel and Jessica! :) We are so happy for you! :)

Go Away, S.

I'm so stressed out that steamboat could be the only thing now that can make me feel normal again.

I KID YOU NOT.

Mom is still in Loh Guan Lye Hospital.. Low count on white blood cells.. Doctor is hardly saying anything.. The blood result came out fine.. We didn't know anything until Mr.Khoo take a look at the blood test result..

Dear Doctor,

How about letting my dad take your salary since you ARE NOT doing your job and he's doing a better job than you. My mom has been lying down on the hospital bed since yesterday and she still feels super dizzy.. Not sure if your nurse forgot to give her the antibiotics or you forgot to tell them to do so.. Seriously... DO YOUR JOB.

I have mentioned this many many times, and today I will still say that for any emergency cases, PLEASE GO DIRECTLY TO GENERAL HOSPITAL!

We brought mom to the emergency room because she was really weak, dizzy and always feeling like she needs to vomit. The hospital wouldn't let her get admitted into her room until I pay RM300 for deposit. WHAT IF I HAVE NO CASH MONEY OF RM300 or I didn't bring my credit cards with me that time? They will let her wait till someone comes over with that RM300?!?!?!

After I pay and the officer was in the midst of processing some paperwork, I asked if now she could be brought to her room so that she could lie down, her answer to me was straight no.

WHATTTT!?!?!?!

So, we waited until she finish photo copying mom's and mine IC then only get another man to escort us to the room.

!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

The whole entire time while I register, mom was suffering trying to sit on the hard-plastic chair outside of the emergency room. Her head was tilted so low because the giddiness was literally killing her.

I am really speechless to how private hospitals treat emergency cases. Thank God I wasn't admitted to any private hospitals, if not I would prolly be in Heaven now.

I don't know if other private hospitals have this kind of procedure (I hope not!), but my experience with Loh Guan Lye Hospital this time isn't a pleasant one.

How disappointing.

Chek Hup 3in1 Ipoh White Coffee.

What a funny/weird/random update today huh?

I decided to write about my experience with Chek Hup just because.

Not that I have some unique experience with this brand lah.

I just wanted to update about something and this somehow caught my attention for today.

So, I was the one who did the shopping for all the snack items during my company's trip weeks ago. I went to Tesco to get the stuff and when I was looking to get coffee, I was stuck. I was literally standing in front of those packed coffee and stared at it for a good 2 minutes.

How to know which brand is good?

I need to get a packet of no sugar one and then less sugar another packet.

Believe it or not, I left Tesco without any coffee in my trolley. WITHOUT.

After seeking help from my colleagues, they gave me specific brand to get so I drove to Sam's Groceria and got Chek Hup. One packet no sugar, means 2in1 and another one packet with sugar, 3in1 but less sugar one.

Good thing I didn't get them at Tesco because it was fifty cents cheaper at Sam's Groceria. So, I got the coffee and thought that the packaging looked pretty nice.

We didn't finish the coffee over at Cameron Highlands so we brought it back. We still have a lot of it actually! I took one 3in1 and decided to give it a try.

So not me okay. It's really true that packaging does wonder to you. I only wanted to try because I like looking at the packaging. Not so much on the individual packets one, but the big one.

Anyways, I came back from sales and was feeling exceptionally thirsty and decided to give this a try.

I usually don't like my coffee hot and even more so when I was feeling super thirsty. So, I mixed it up with some hot  water and then campur iced cold water in.

First swallow was amazing! The aroma of the white coffee is superb! Love it so much that I finished half of it on the second 'sip'!

Maybe I was too thirsty lah that's why swallowed so much but it was really good.

In fact, it was my first time finishing the whole cup of coffee by myself in the office. It's good. Really good.

Side note: like my new manicure? I've always loved French style. This one is gel manicure sumore, so longer lasting it is :)))

Renewing that Red Book.

why?
Your passport has less than six (6) months validity to your date of travel or it had already expired long time.

Where?
Pejabat Imigresen Georgetown.

When?
Monday to Friday from 7:30am to 5:30pm.

How?
The office opens at 7:30am, so you can be there by 7:25am and get in line to take the number. To get the number from the officer, you have to present your current passport and Identification Card, then only you will be given a number.

All you do after you get your number is to wait. Try to find a seat if can. Usually, the staffs move slower in the morning no idea why. So, be prepared to wait for quite some time there. Of course if you see an elderly person needing a seat, you should must get up and offer yours. Manners first people. Manners.

When I got my number, I almost drop to the floor. There's 134 people before me leh! It's crazy. I waited in there for a while but it got too crowded so I stood outside for a while. Then, I was thinking of the things that I need to have to renew my passport and remembered that I need to have two pieces of my recent passport photos.

Not wanting to waste time and since I have so much time doing nothing other than standing by the side of the road, I walked to the Sri Weld Food Court to get my passport photo done. There's one small shop at the side of it.

The shop owner told me that now no need to prepare passport photo beforehand. Everything will be done at the booth inside the office. Not very clear of what he meant, I walked back to the office. This time, I walked further inside until I saw the booth and then only knew what that shop owner was talking about.

When they call for your number, go up to the booth, give them your passport and IC. Then, they will ask you to sit down in front of the camera and sit up straight.

As you sit there and stare at the camera lens, the people waiting around are also probably staring at you. ONE OF THE MOST AWKWARD SITUATION TO BE IN. That lasted for like 2 minutes then you will be asked to wait for another booth/officer to call out your name.

Then, they will ask you a few questions like your mobile number and your current address etc to update your profile. They will also ask if you would like to renew your passport for:

2 years - RM100
5 years - RM300

I did mine for 5 years. No way I want to go through this again. Waiting for hours. Madness.

After that, they will ask you to wait (again!) to make your payment. So, I waited again. Most of the wait happened while standing. VERY LIMITED CHAIRS.

I had one chair to myself for a good 12 minutes then I gave it up to an elderly woman who obviously needed the chair more than I do. My legs can still manage my weight and I'm still young okay. So yeah. GIVE YOUR CHAIR TO SENIOR CITIZEN PLEASE. There were so many young adults who were sitting down. Probably cos they can move faster towards the seat whenever someone gets up. Seriously..

Anyways, I paid RM300 to a lady also named, 'Sarah'. I know because when she called my name, she gave me the warmest smile. I couldn't tell why because she seemed to be annoyed with the previous person until I saw it on her name tag :)

Then, she will give me a receipt with the 'time to collect passport' on it. Mine was stated at 1:45pm but since I had things to do, I came only at 3:10pm. (I spent about 20 minutes going around the area looking for a parking space!).

When you go back to collect your passport, you have to show the receipt paper to the counter where you first take your number in the morning. He will then give you a new number for your passport collection which only operates at Booth 8.

Sixteen people before me. Not so bad. At least it's two digits, not three.

This time, I only waited for less than 30 minutes and it's done.

All done.

Phewww.

Whole morning and partial noon gone just to renew the red book. Please, if you need to renew your passport, DO IT FOR 5 YEARS.

I'm excited for November to come already. It's super exciting. More on that later. You might already know through my Instagram or Facebook or Twitter but you don't know where! Muahaha.

Till then :)
