Highlights of 2014.

This is going to be the usual blog post where I will list down some of moments that have made a difference in my life, one way or another. Good times and bad times, both made me who I am today and who I will be next year, and the many years to come.

This is for me to look back and know that 2014 has been a blessed year. God has blessed me in ways that I never could imagine, be it a happy situation or a heartbreaking one.

With this, I'm entering 2015 with a bigger heart to love people, especially people who are tough.

Why I Never Join 2014's Penang Bridge Marathon?

I heard from somewhere that it's quite expensive this year because they were having it for the first time at the Second Penang Bridge, so I didn't even bother checking out how much since this year I really need to save.

I am no longer as fit as I would like myself to be.

Trauma from last year's experience. No, nothing bad happened. Koay's leg was injured so we WALKED the entire 10km which killed all my enthusiasm to run this year. I don't know whether if it really affected me that way though. Heh.

Not really a run-kind-of person.

I assumed that it was going to be TOO crowded at the Second Bridge since there's 20,000 extra people who signed up this year.

No one jio me.

I am slowly disliking running for don't know what reason also.

Finding time to go on a date with the lover, grabbing more sleep on the weekends and running errands also not enough time already. No need to think of running marathon.

I don't think I can finish before the allocated time?

Koay didn't want to join so no partner to walk run with this time.

I've signed up for the Color Run in December, which is also 10km. Once a year can already :)

I'm lazy.

External Charger.

I have been wanting to get an external charger for quite some time already since the last two that I bought kaput already.

Groupon is one of the place that I searched at and usually I just exit the page without making any purchase although some seems like a pretty good deal. I even saw one that can insert my Goldii in without using any cable but it was above my budget. That's why I never got any because that money is needed for something more important.

God really knows what our heart's desires are and what we really need.

Today, I received an external charger from Club Med and it's 100% can charge my Goldii 3 times full!

It even comes with a percentage indicator. Only God knows how much I like gadgets with percentage indicators!

I don't even have to get any powerbank anymore so nice!

Little things like that. Thank You!

Wednesday-Thursday-Friday.

This place has been quiet for so many days?

I didn't even realize..

That's how F1-fast time passed through me..

Let's go through the days just because I don't know what to blog about today and I'm feeling a little bit under the weather to need to do something that requires a lot of brain power.

Then, I realized that trying to think through my happenings for the past few days requires probably same amount of brain power.

Oh well.

Wednesday
- Drove to office earlier than usual days and parked at the nearest spot I could find.
- Walked to the Dim Sum Restaurant opposite KDU College to get meself some ham+pork floss buns. I don't like pork floss (bak hu) but this is the only exception because it's super yummy.
- Walked back to the office and waited for Jayne.
- Carpooled with her to Kulim for a corporate roadshow.
- We relied on Waze 100% to get to Entegris.
- Set up the booth which includes wiping the rice + curry stained tables.
- During break time, I decided to get this blog a domain. Paid and thought I did everything rightly, but the domain ain't showing anything else other than Godaddy's page.
- Decided to leave it for few hours cos maybe it needs hours before it's activated.
- Left Entegris in the evening and went to another corporate to collect cheque, also with Waze and only Waze.
- Got home, changed and rushed to Gurney Paragon Mall for momzay's birthday dinner.

- I had my cold soba again.
- Checked the domain again and same thing.
- Sent an emergency whatsapp to Ben and gave him all my information.
- Drove to Karpal Singh Drive and had coffee-relaxing-time at the Coffee Smith, which soon you will see how we review them.
- Ben whatsapp-ed back and said, "It works now". I can finally breathe again.
- Got home and lied flat. Oh, of course I showered first.

Thursday
- Finalize the US visa application online and check on certain things.
- Left office with the big boss to Prai for a corporate lunch with a secretary and the GM, Finance Director.
- It turns out to be a fun car ride with the boss. Not what i thought it would be - awkward.
- Had choo char at a local kopitiam, only people who works in Prai would know.
- My aircon decided to be on strike on the day my boss sits my car.
- She was drenched in sweat. I'm sorry!
- Rested in the office for 20 minutes then attended the sales meeting from 3pm to 7pm.
- Fetched Koay and head back to take a shower.
- I had Stuffed Fish for dinner which I regretted after the fourth bite.
- Back to his house for a friendly mahjong session with his family.

Friday.
- More US visa applications came in.
- Songs on Youtube is loading and surprisingly really quickly.
- With one earphone in my left ear, I'm singing it out, no shame whatsoever if my colleagues are listening.
- It's Friday so that means the working mode is in blinking green light. Anytime, can turn red.
- Lunch at the economy rice shop opposite First Avenue with my fellow Gunung Irau's climbers :)
- Drove to Prai with his car via ferry.
- First time there were 8 lanes heading to mainland.
- Rained cats and dogs so I decided to come back via the bridge. Scared the sea gets too choppy or the ferry turns over and sink somehow. Hah.
- Trying to think very hard where I put the receipts for my car's visit to the mechanic.
- Waiting so impatiently to go home. I JUST WANT TO GO HOME NOW.

THE END.

13 October 2014

Go Away, S.

I'm so stressed out that steamboat could be the only thing now that can make me feel normal again.

I KID YOU NOT.

Mom is still in Loh Guan Lye Hospital.. Low count on white blood cells.. Doctor is hardly saying anything.. The blood result came out fine.. We didn't know anything until Mr.Khoo take a look at the blood test result..

Dear Doctor,

How about letting my dad take your salary since you ARE NOT doing your job and he's doing a better job than you. My mom has been lying down on the hospital bed since yesterday and she still feels super dizzy.. Not sure if your nurse forgot to give her the antibiotics or you forgot to tell them to do so.. Seriously... DO YOUR JOB.

I have mentioned this many many times, and today I will still say that for any emergency cases, PLEASE GO DIRECTLY TO GENERAL HOSPITAL!

We brought mom to the emergency room because she was really weak, dizzy and always feeling like she needs to vomit. The hospital wouldn't let her get admitted into her room until I pay RM300 for deposit. WHAT IF I HAVE NO CASH MONEY OF RM300 or I didn't bring my credit cards with me that time? They will let her wait till someone comes over with that RM300?!?!?!

After I pay and the officer was in the midst of processing some paperwork, I asked if now she could be brought to her room so that she could lie down, her answer to me was straight no.

WHATTTT!?!?!?!

So, we waited until she finish photo copying mom's and mine IC then only get another man to escort us to the room.

!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

The whole entire time while I register, mom was suffering trying to sit on the hard-plastic chair outside of the emergency room. Her head was tilted so low because the giddiness was literally killing her.

I am really speechless to how private hospitals treat emergency cases. Thank God I wasn't admitted to any private hospitals, if not I would prolly be in Heaven now.

I don't know if other private hospitals have this kind of procedure (I hope not!), but my experience with Loh Guan Lye Hospital this time isn't a pleasant one.

How disappointing.

07 October 2014

Three Days of Goodness.

The only Public Holiday this year that I didn't go out of the island, I think.

It's also the only Public Holiday this year that I actually slept in until 11am.

The Khoo Clan's cycling trip was on but I was too tired and sleepy to join so I skipped that.

Just when I thought the whole day was just going to be relaxing kind of day, Koay planned a trip to the gym.

Free trial rocks! :)

Spent two hours working out, talking, and RPM-ing.

Now I know why people would spend hundreds per session for an hour with a trainer. It really works better like that. If I ever subscribe to a gym membership, it would be Absolute Fitness and I will need a trainer. Can be guy or girl, doesn't matter as long as they are a professional trainer! Heh.

Anyways, my weekend and Monday was fun-filled with activities and events and bonding time. Love ittt.

October is a fun month guys. All the upcoming getaways. Ahhhhh it's so nice! :)))

Wedding dinner at Eastin Hotel. Red wine for me and wiski for him :)

AYC promo trip to Prai Church!

My favorite thing to do in gym now: ROWING.

Bonding session with the mama. Gel mani/pedi FTW.

Fruitful week it has been.

Thank You Jesus for providing :)

26 September 2014

Two Downs and One Up.

I wrote in my Twitter, "Oh, I'm an angry girl now."

Everything that can go wrong went wrong today.

Okay, not really actually.

The day started pretty well I have to say.

Dad and mom got me my favorite nasi lemak from the market and we finalized the details for the trip tomorrow.

Then, I left office and went on with my appointments and everything is well.

Until I had that hunch to just click on that DiGi app in my phone and check my phone bill. I've just made an online payment of RM100 two days ago and now they are still telling me that I still have certain amount pending.

So, I got very curious and a bit furious. Haha.

I scrolled down and I saw this! *points below*

As far as I know, I have been using iDiGi Internet 88 with RM20 rebate when I got my goldii earlier this year.

I have been thinking of getting an upgrade on the data plan since 1gb is definitely not enough for me.

This is what happened few weeks ago:

I called the Digi helpline and got the information I needed. The lady on the phone who happens to be from the HQ in KL told me that the only upgrade that I am entitled to (since I'm still in the iPhone 5s contract till Dec 2015) is iDiGi Internet 108 with 5gb of data plan and some other benefits like free 300 minutes of calls etc.

So I asked further on the current rebate that I have and if there is any penalty that I have to pay if I wanted the 3gb one instead of 5gb.

She said yes I will still get my RM20 rebate. So, that means that I will only be paying RM88 for 5gb internet plan monthly. That I'm totally fine because it's actually quite cheap.

So, I agreed and asked her to proceed to do the upgrading through the phone. Unfortunately, I didn't get my upgrade that day due to some system upgrading in DiGi centres all across Malaysia. So fine.

One week passed and I decided to go to DiGi Centre in Pulau Tikus to get them done.

After waiting for an hour, I finally got to talk to this guy named Tim. I only knew his name today. I'll explain more. So read on.

I went to his desk and told him what I wanted etc. He did a quick check on his laptop and gave me the same reply as the lady on the phone one week ago. This time though he wasn't too sure if I will still get my rebate and he also did mentioned that there might be some penalty charges.

I was rushing for work so he suggested that I go on with my work and he will call me once the system upgrade is done and he know for sure on some of my above questions.

Till today, I did not receive any call or sms from him. None. Zero. Elek.

So, I went back to using my normal 1gb data plan for another week. I hesitated to go back since he mentioned that there might be penalty. So, I was thinking to drop this thing off my shoulder. No need think about it d. Just use more wifi or ask Andrew and Nikki to share theirs. Heh.

Today, when I saw that I'm currently using the iDiGi Internat 108, I straight ki-siau. Not literally, but emotionally.

I was like, "WHY HE UPGRADE FOR ME AND I DON'T EVEN REMEMBER AGREEING TO IT!" All this was said in the back of my mind. None was said out loud.

I was so upset that I drove like F1 from Suntech to Pulau Tikus. I just wanted this solved.

I'm not going to pay RM108 every month for something that I didn't even agree on in the first place.

I got there, crossed my arm and stood at the corner of his desk. He saw me obviously but he was still attending to another client. So, I just stood there and waited. He's the one on the most left, attending to the guy in black.

I didn't even take a number and line up. I didn't think I have to. I felt like a VIP just because I feel used. Or lied to. Anyhow, just furious lah.

When the person in front of me left, I went to his table.

Me: Do you remember me?
Tim: Yes... Okay..*tried to explain something but I cut him off*

I went on explaining what happened like mentioned above and all.

My questions:

  • How come DiGi upgrade my data plan without my verification? I thought must show IC?
  • Why was it upgraded? I never say I want to.
  • You said you will call me back to let me know how much. You didn't call and straight upgrade?
  • Since it's already done, do I get a rebate? How about penalty?
  • It's stated in the flyer iDiGI Internet 108 is for 5gb, how come I only see 3gb on my screen?

His explanation:

  • "I thought you said directly upgrade"
  • "HQ in KL took your case as a testing platform after the system upgrade"
  • "They want to see if this case scenario can be successfully done without penalty"
  • "Check your next bill and if there's no rebate, we will manually add the rebate for you"

He didn't really answer some of my questions and there were doubt in his voice, so in the end, he wrote me his personal number and asked me to text him if my bill comes out wrong.

I walked out, feeling lost a little.

I was quite happy that now I have enough internet and don't need to beg people to share with me, but at the same time I still feel a little upset.

I really don't like people doing things without my permission. I HATE IT. Especially things that concern me.

I mean, excuse me DiGi, if you want me to be your guinea pig and you did without informing me, you should pay me. Hah. And I never agree to becoming your test to see if its going to be a successful thing.

What if it's not? Then I will have to go through all the hassle in and out of the centre just to deal with it.

Okay, enough of me on this subject.

Guess what I saw today also.

Another love letter.

My third love letter this year. January, April and September. Very goooood.

Really padan muka.

I was feeling really lazy to park so far and walk so might as well park at a corner where it doesn't block anyone, right?

Wrong.

Drove back to office and waved/smiled at the indian uncle. I could hear his "Darling!" before I came out of the car. Little things that makes everything better again, and no, calling me darling doesn't make it better. It's just his face immediately got lighted up when he saw me that made it better. Heh.

He opened my passenger side door and smiled.

Then, he said, "Barang you sudah jatuh" I was like, "Apa benda?"

He then picked up the one thing that I thought I have lost. MY SHADES!

Boy, I became the happiest girl again! I was so sad when I couldn't find it yesterday. SO SO SAD. Good thing I never go Gurney and buy immediately. My shades are very important to me, if you don't already know that.

So yay.

24 September 2014

I'll Always Be A Student.

"You student ah?"

"You're working already? I thought you college student.."

"You look so young, like a student"

Things I hear when strangers talk to me. Nothing new. Nothing biggie also. It just hit me today that in a few months' time I will celebrate my twenty-seventh. In few months.. MONTHS. *swallows hard*

Even that, I still get these questions.

Today in Tesco when I did the last minute stop to get Chek Hup White Coffee 2-in-1 for the company's trip to Cameron this Saturday.

He's from the magic booth that they strategically set up in the middle of the pathway so whether you are going to Tesco or leaving Tesco, you still have to walk pass them.

Going in to get the coffee, he walked to me and asked for few minutes and I politely rejected him and smiled. Then, he paused very suddenly while taking small steps towards me and asked, "You student ah?"

I said, "No, working already!"

He gave me the no-way-i-don't-believe-you and I just shook my head and "mm-hmm" him.

Of course I took that as a compliment. It's always nice to get "you look young" comments than "you look older than your age" comments. But it got me thinking for real.

Needless to say when I was leaving Tesco, I purposely avoid any eye contact but failed terribly. He looked at me and gave me the widest smile and said bye. How cute.

Anyways, there are a lot of pros and cons in this kind of situation.

For work, it's not entirely bad but it leans more to that. Sometimes because I looked 'young', my clients tend to take longer time to be convinced of the things that I'm capable of doing. Thankfully, my boss doesn't see that and she really does try her best to groom me and give me experiences.

Do you know that I have been working for 2 years now and sometimes new clients look at me and they thought I've only started work? That I just left college not too long ago.. Yeah.

For everything else other than work, it's been good so far. I still get student discounts to some places. Thank you KDU College. Your student card is best student card everrr :)

At least for now, everything seems good. this young face/body that I have (thank you God!), it really doesn't bother me much. Hopefully it never will. Hopefully it will only bring goodness and more goodness.

One thing though.

I do think that people will give me their judgement when they see me in my wedding dress or when I get pregnant in the future. Maybe not so much when I kahwin but if random strangers see my pregnant belly in the streets, sure their mind will fly. All the drama stories will begin. Haha.

FOR SURE.

They will be like:

"Look at this small girl. So young only get married d. Sure accident d that's why kahwin so early.."

or

"Wah! So young marry d ah. Why so hurry?"

or

"She so young pregnant d?"

or

"That girl is pregnant! She's like what? 18 years old?"

or

"Look at that girl! She's probably still studying in college and she's pregnant!"

or

"Ayorr. So young only. Still student already pregnant.."

Hahaha. I can write all this because I'e done it before. As in see other people and if they look student-young and pregnant, my mind straight jumps into conclusion that.. like mentioned above. Haha. I know it's very bad but yeah.

I really did encountered some cases in college when REAL STUDENTS actually got themselves pregnant and still attending class like a boss. So, these things are real okay. Maybe not so much in Malaysia but still there are cases in local colleges.

So yeah.

I think at some point now, I should start wearing heels. I don't know why but I guess wearing heels give me an impression of a more adult person. I feel most comfortable when I'm in flats and being short was NEVER an issue for me.

I never want to be tall.

Now that Koay and I are at 'perfect' heights whenever we are next to each other, I see no reason why I should change that. I mean I love it that he's just taller than me at the right amount of inches. When I hug him, my face lands perfectly at his chest-shoulder area. Although I do really like looking at tall people, and animal. *points the photo above*

One of my favorite animals in zoo. The only one I care enough to take a photo with actually. Heh.

So, I might even consider wearing flats for my wedding. Hah. Please don't think that I gila kahwin since I kept talking about it. I like to think of it more of preparing for the future.

Let us all not be in that 'zone' where girls must not talk about the wedding and stuff (at least not in public like this!) when the guys hasn't even propose and stuff.

I think it's perfectly fine because we both know exactly where we are heading.

Back to this.

So for the sake of looking like a twenty-six, I should and would do more heels than flat from now onwards. Wait.. or maybe because I'm still wearing braces? Could be that.. Hmm.

Other than that, I LOVE BEING MISTAKEN AS A STUDENT.

Which lady wouldn't want to be mistaken as a younger person? WHO?

N O B O D Y.

By the way, everyone is a student till the day they say goodbye to earth, technically since we learn things everyday.. Right? Heh.

13 August 2014

My Two Angels at Work.

Remember about three months ago I had this incident where I had to pay RM150 to get my car back? Nah, go read first.

Since that incident, I learnt my lesson and I no longer park at places where people are not supposed to park.

Because of that, I had to park behind my office at the lorong and because I start work at 9am, the usual slots that are usually still available are the back ones. The ones most far from my office.

Of course I learnt also to not mind walking that distance if that means that I don't have to be worried when I'm at work about my car.

So, all this while I have been happily parking at my usual spot with no nonsense.

Of course there are more parking spaces nearer to the office but they are usually taken care of by people. There's one chinese uncle who's always angry and shouting at people and then there's one indian uncle with sour face also most of the time.

I don't want to park at their territory not because they are rude and always asking for money, but the fact that I always go out of office to meet clients so when I park my car, it's usually for less than 3 hours.

Despite them being rude (at me once), I constantly smile and calls them 'Uncle' just to show respect.

Then, this weird thing happened last week.

Oh wait! The chinese uncle also somehow expanded his territory over the years and the front part of the lorong (nearest to the office) are also reserved by him by putting his plastic chairs on them.

Okay, back to the story. As I drove past the 2 uncles in the morning last week, the chinese uncle waved at me to stop my car and wind down my window. I was a bit puzzled because I wasn't gonna park at his area.

To my surprise, he went on and asked me to park at one of the plastic chair reserved slot. I wasn't sure of it but he kept insisting. So, I did and I said thank you. That was when I saw one of the biggest warmest smile from him. My heart was filled that morning.

After few hours, I was on my way going out and there he was again smiling and waving to me.

Not only that, every morning after that, he would always ask me to park there. Now, its sort of became my parking slot and I didn't even have to pay for anything.

Story is not over yet.

Then, there's this one security guard who works in One Academy College. He usually takes care of the back door. He's new because I haven't seen him before.

Ever since the chinese uncle asked me to park at his reserved slot, this security guard has been the nicest ever. Everytime he sees me, we talked a little. Usually it's the basic things like, "Sudah makan ah?".

Then, he became even nicer. Everytime when he sees my car turn in from a corner to park, he would stand up from his chair and sometimes out of the college just to remove the chairs for me. Then, when I leave sometimes, he would put the chair back to the slot so that no one else will park.

It's crazy because I don't even remember talking to both of them before as I parked very very far from them usually.

Just two days ago, he even told me that he will take care of my car when I'm in office, just in case when the MPPP people come and want to tow cars away. He continued telling me that last week two cars were towed away by the MPPP.

I don't know what I did to deserve all this.

The funny thing is it happened at the right time.

I was having so much difficulty at work for the past two weeks, feeling really demotivated and just unhappy. Not unhappy with my work but just the whole concept of waking up at 8am every morning to go work. Yes, sleep is very important to me. It could be that I was really having very less sleep lately too.

So, when this happened, immediately I was reminded that God is taking care of me. He is interested in my everyday life and He knows best.

It's nothing big but these two men who was once strangers to me now became my angels because what they did changed everything.

Thank You Jesus for everything.
