Keep Swallowing.

One of the worse things to happen during a good night's sleep is when you swallow your saliva and the pain wakes you up.

Then, you try to swallow more and the pain gets even worse.

Immediately, you switch sleeping mode to praying mode because the pain is just too unbearable. Somehow, you fell asleep and it was a smooth sleep again.

Until you wake up in the morning, no more saliva to swallow.

The pain seemed to be gone after you brush your teeth and you thought it's gone!

After make-up, you swallow again to final check and wala, it's back again.

You walked into the office feeling pretty worn out with all the swallowing saliva going on and then you started sneezing non-stop.

You got your materials ready and heading towards Prai to meet some corporate clients. You decided that on the way, you'll stop by at Klinik Huang and buy some medicines.

I lazy to say the rest already.

Yeah, one day in the life of Sarah Khoo.
April 11th, Friday.

It's going to be okay by tomorrow morning because we going to the city of madness!

13 March 2014

Pre-MATTA Fair KL 2014.

So, here I am in KL's office, trying to post an update since I have already gone through my brand/products a few times and I think I should be okay with the information and stuff.

MY ALARM RANG AT 6:30AM TODAY! IT FELT LIKE I WAS GOING TO HIT SOMEONE REAL BAD!

I can't remember the last time I actually woke up at a time after 10am! WHEN!?!?!?

Ohhh.. Actually two days ago I did.. I woke up at like 11:00am.. Okay, fine. Fair enough.

Although it would be super nice if I can sleep in for a few more days in a row. Now, even weekends I wake up early. Sometimes ever earlier than weekdays. Pffft.

The whole entire journey from Penang to KL (HTT's HQ), I slept whenever I can. The eyes just too heavy lah. Even now, I'm like wasting all the energy that's left in me in the office that's so quiet you can hear someone's tummy making noise. My taxi only coming at 6pm to drop me at the hotel.

Anyways, Club Med's promotion is as much as 40% discount! ALL INCLUSIVE HOLIDAY! Everyone should at least go once to a Club Med Resort. It's super worth the $$$!

All day err-day snacking by the bar, open bar concept, drink all you want, whatever you want, food high class standard, land and sea activities with no hidden charges. You don't even have to bring $$$ out of your hotel room. SERIOUSLY!

Too bad my annual leaves are precious and very limited, abo I sure book for myself.

So far, it's the only travel brand that I feel comfortable at selling and telling people about how great it is :)

I'm feeling pretty bored now.

KL's haze is worse than bad. It's a disaster. It's like I don't know KL anymore. Not that I know KL very good like that. Looking forward to dinner with ma boy number three :)

My heart beats a lil bit faster knowing it's going to be tomorrow. Hands-on always calm me down. All the theories and stuff help but not as helpful as hands-on booking. THIS IS INDEED SCARY!

Curry Mee Party in Office.

Friday is the best day in weekdays. The most waited for. The fun-nest. The favorite.

For my company, there's two sessions of lunch break. The 12pm and 1pm break. Mine is at 1pm.

The 1pm bunch decided to have curry mee feast in the office. Not just any curry mee. They specifically cooks the everyone's-talking-about-it-curry-mee! Of course with so many married women with children working in the same office, it is a sure thing that the curry mee sure comes with a lot of "liau"! *slurps*

It's finger licking good okay. We started cooking at 1pm and only able to eat at 1:30pm. Twelve people. Twelve very hungry people. It was quite fun la actually.

You can see a lot of personality in the kitchen. All with their own ideas of making the soup better or how you want to cook the taugeh quicker or if the soup was too much. Noises everywhere. Definitely a noisy loud fun lunch.

Then another colleague bought a whole watermelon and that was quite a dessert. Too bad I hate fruits. Days like this, I look forward to.

Six more months and it'll be my two years with this company already. Crazy how time goes by.

IT'S WEEKEND GUYS! :)

13 November 2013

Me, US Visa Pro.

I now know how to apply for my own US Visa next time.

It's going to costs me RM512 with the exchange rate at three point two.

And that's just visa alone.

I also know that it'll probably be from the B class, for tourist.

It is fun to be busy but I just didn't expect that I would get THIS packed for the entire day and night.

No, I'm not complaining but it's a good thing that it's not going to be like a permanent long hours thing.

I can't even imagine working in a bank or anywhere else that's so busy. I'm thankful :)

St. Jude Medical always send their staffs to United States for training. WHY SO FUN! And most of their paycheck is SO THE VERY AMAZING figure wise. Heh.

MUST MAKE TIME FOR MYSELF soon.

Loving Singapore.

So, if you have been talking to me since I came back to Penang, you would have already known that my trip down to Singapore has been a very pleasant one, or if you follow me on Instagram and Facebook.

Of course there are some people telling me that it's nice and I love it because I was on a holiday (not really because I was there for a seminar) and it's totally different if I am actually working there, you know like it's really competitive and stuff. I agree that it could be because I was kinda on some kind of holiday mood and hey, grass is greener on the other side ma right? Not always but I think in Singapore, everything is greener, cleaner and nicer. Haha. I still love Penang! :)

So yeah, it was a very nice trip. I shall just put my experiences in point forms.

  • Brought too many things in my cabin luggage. Limit was 7kg but mine was 11kg, but the lady let me go :)
  • Real shark fin soup is really yummy and it's nowhere near to the ones we usually eat in weddings or chinese restaurants.
  • Tasted the must-have-drink-while-in-Singapore, the Singapore Sling.
  • Went to the 70th floor of Swissotel and viewed the island. Pretty sight and pretty girl DJ.
  • Took loads of photos at Collyer Quay of Marina Bay Sands and the Singapore Flyer. LOVE THE VIEW!
  • Walked to Clarke Quay and almost got ourselves killed with the fast incoming car because the traffic/walkway was a bit too far.
  • Blessed a man singing with his guitar at the river-under-tunnel because his voice was soooooo gooooood!
  • Became pretty close to two girls from Sri Lanka and one from Korea.
  • Travelled barefoot from Clarke Quay to Park Royal, Beach Road. Those who stays in Singapore would know how far that is. Oh and all that happened at 1am.
  • Got lost in the city of Merlion.
  • Tasted the famous Rochor's 'tau huey' and 'tau chui' on the arrival night.
  • The hotel that we stayed in has one of the most amazing pillow and blanket and bed.
  • The President of Travel Corporation brought the four girls around and became our Travel Director/Tour Guide of the night.
  • Walked to Bugis Street in the evening and got some Robert Timm's coffee (recommended by my manager) and some bottled baby food.
  • Visited Trafalgar's office. The building that their offices are in is huge and very Gotham-like.
  • Walked everywhere and never once used its public transport.
  • Explored Haji Lane and saw so many shops with cute dresses, but oh so pricey. STILL LOVE THE LANE A LOT. So many cafes along it too.
  • Skyped with the bangla for few minutes. Poor boy waited for me till very late.
  • Chilled at a Spanish Tapas Bar called Octapas at 12:30am and enjoyed a glass of Sangria, to the live band music and by the riverside.
  • Found out that Nevar is Korean's Google :)
  • Changi Airport is soooo huge!
  • To  travel from PEN-SIN, it only take one hour or less. HOW CONVENIENT! :)

14 October 2013

Good Monday.

So, I came into the office today and got a call from my manager first thing in the morning.

Her: I want you to go down to Singapore with Serena this Wednesday till Friday for a Trafalgar product talk. Do you think you'll be able to make it?
Me: Err... Yes. Definitely yes!

So, in less than an hour, my flight is booked and found out that I was going to stay at the Park Royal Hotel.

*jaw drops*

It's probably nothing huge and fancy, but hey, having to stay at a 4-stars hotel in Singapore (since spending money in Singapore is such painful thing) for my first time to this country is quite a big thing for me.

We already made some plans to even visit Singapore for our second anniversary next year, staying over at a friend's or something. But this, this is just so sweeeeet.

Thank You, Jesus, for listening to all my complains and giving me this very-needed-break!

I can't wait to visit the Merlion and put on the green light for my tourist mode.

THREE DAYS AND TWO NIGHTS.
Singapore, here I come :)

14 August 2013

One Year Five Days.

Speak of CRAZY and FAST.

I can never be able to grasp how long short it has been since I started this Work Chapter. The flashback photos of when I sat at this desk and slowly starting to fill the things on the table are still very fresh and unreal.

I am tied to a two-year contract and I'm halfway there. No matter how long I have been working, it's still difficult to let it sink that this is what LIFE is gonna be (partly) since a year ago. No more college-party-watch movie anytime anymore. It's all gonna be work and earn money, whether working for other people or doing own business.

I am thankful for the experience I've gained over this one year. It's been fun and exciting. At the same time, I'm really thankful that I've been given the chance to join in so many projects and travel fairs.

Not to also mention, the FREE All-Inclusive-Holiday that I was given. Club Med Cherating is one of the most amazing holidays I've ever been to. The food, the people, the deluxe room, the activities, the place. All are very good. And we even got to join them celebrating some event (I can't remember whether it was for Christmas or New Year's Eve or something) and watched fireworks from like the VIP place, sort of. Open-air party in the garden just beside the beach. AMAZING!

Will I go back to Club Med Cherating again? No. Because I want to go the other Club Meds in the world. Gotta try new things right? Oh yeah, Club Med Cherating is the FIRST Club Med property built in the whole of South-East Asia. Cool heh?

Club med Phuket is my next target, I think. Fingers all crossed and prayers prayed. Hopefully, the next time I go, it would be with a bunch of good friends and family :) Ahhh, all the fruit juices and finger-licking food to be indulged in. Oooh. Hopes are high, so what? Keep hoping la :)

Entering into my second year makes me more confident people in the things I do. Definitely enjoy meeting people, in large or small companies. Okla, don't really want to go so much in details on things like that. There are obviously bumps on the way and how I hated starting work on Mondays. That sucks, just for anybody. So, it's like everyone's-problem-on-Mondays. CONFIRM!

Good news for everyone. It's finally Wednesday! Two more days to weekends! Weird, but somehow I'm not looking forward to this week's weekend. Hmmmph.

GO CORPORATE PRAYER TONIGHT YOU GUYS AT FGA CENTRE, 8:30pm! :)

See you all there :)

09 July 2013

Travel Fair Et Cetera.

My Saturday and Sunday. 6-7 July 2013. Oh and maybe my Monday too since it was a holiday.

Just so you know, I actually had to refresh this page ten thousand million times in order for me to start typing what I wanted to say here. Juts imagine the geramness. Anyways, I am here now so yay.

My first time working on a travel fair and I have to say, in the beginning of it I was so excited. And surprisingly, I was still excited about it when it ended on Sunday night. So yeah. Koay kept calling me workaholic and stuff, but I know I'm not. I just really like my company a lot and it's so fun trying to get people to plan and book their holidays. It kinda makes me happy when I see people book and sign away for a good deal like Club Med's! :)

It's nice that I've made a few new friends from KL's team sent by Club Med too. So yeah, in summary, I actually really enjoyed myself working on the past weekend. The only sad thing thing is I had to skip Youth Service and Sunday Church. Felt funny not spending time with some good friends.

On another note, I decided to handwrite the Bible. Jeng jeng jeng. As in copy them and write them on a nice paper and I shall compile it, whether it's gonna take many many years. I shall try doing this thing. What inspire me? I saw in a magazine last night that a man did that and finished it all in 4 years. King James version somemore. I shall do it in three years. Kidding! But yeah, I think it's pretty fun!

The connection in my office is driving me crazy. It's not only slow. It's super pathetic. It makes me so angry and annoyed! But I shall keep smiling and stay thankful :)

I have finally finish watching Vampire Diaries. Now, moving onto New Girl. Next would be Lost, I think. Like I mentioned in my tweets, I like how Klaus loves Caroline. He knows he's not her first love, but he's gonna stay and wait to be her last. That also because they are both vampires and they don't get old, while Caroline's current first love is a werewolf. Wait, or is he a hybrid? I don't know.. Now, I'm confused.. Oh well. VD has a lot of gorgeous ladies. Elena, Caroline and Lexi! My three fav girls :)

You know people always type something and then adds "etc" behind them because they too lazy to type all? Yeah, that stands for Et Cetera. If you didn't know, you're welcome! :)

Koay walked to my office on another street and then we both held hands and walked to one of his ever favorite chicken rice place. Shweeet. Since we weren't able to spend time last week, the long walk there actually got us some catch-up sessions. Gotta love long walks with coconut boy.

Also, that two days of working in the weekend, I spent my two nights with baby girl. Loved every moment of it though have to wake up in the middle of the night. Loved spending time with her. Though most of the time it's quite time. Hahaha. But there were so many times that she smiled a lot of times when I talked to her. Everytime she does that, I melted even more. How to not love her even more every passing minute?! HOW!?

Pastor Cowan called and asked about the campsite. And I immediately went crazy! Faster called the lady and booked the date for youth camp. Phew.. Good thing he called. If not, say bye bye to our favorite place for camps. Very close. Very very close.

So, it's all random and stuff. I DID mention ET CETERA in the title so yep. All the random things I'm rambling here.

Second half of 2013. Crazy fast time flew by. And that's alright. That's because I'm embracing each part of it. Every part of life. The truth is I feel old. But when I look into the mirror, I feel young. Speaking of identity crisis. Okay, I'm just joking. I don't have identity issues. Hah.

I cannot wait to go for our "Complimentary One Night Cruise to Nowhere!" And the boy and his family are going for PEN-PHUKET-KRABI-PEN in a month's time! SO SYIOKKK! It sucks that my annual leave is zero numbered now. DOWNZ. Gotta save the last 5 unpaid leave for AYC. This is indeed a very sad thing. oh wellz..

Actually, all these ramblings are like my last week's update. Oh oh! I went for another medical check-up yesterday for some insurans thingy stuff. So, normally a simple medical check-up consists just urine test, eye test and check body and stuff. Yesterday, the doctor who was doing the chek was an old man. Usually young adults' kind of doctor are the ones I see but this one is different. So yeah. Let's just say that it's definitely gonna be a woman doctor who's gonna be delivering my baby! FOR SURE! NO MALE DOCTOR FOR ME THANK YOU VERY MUCH! No offence and not being sexist but it's just so so uncomfortable!

Told Koay and the response on his face was hilarious! Hah.

Alright, enough of these ramblings :)

Signing off.

07 July 2013

Quick One.

Just decided to post something up real quick!

I feel so empty somehow not going to church on Saturday and Sunday. SO SO EMPTY! I MISS YOU ALL CRAZY PEOPLE THAT MAKES MY LIFE SO MUCH MORE FUN!

Thank God Monday is a HOLIDAY! Actually,  not much difference because I still need to wake up early for a medical check-up. Praying and hoping that nothing weird will be found in this body. NOTHING.

Okay. It's time I start work now. Blessed Sunday all :)

03 July 2013

One Month To One Year.

I HAVE NEVER BEEN THIS BUSY DURING MY WHOLE ENTIRE MONTHS OF WORKING HERE! IT'S A GOOD THING BECAUSE I LIKE HAVING THINGS TO DO BUT TODAY, IT'S JUST OUT OF MY MIND KINDA LOADS.

ONE MORE MONTH AND IT'S GONNA BE MY ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY WITH HOLIDAY TOURS.

ALL THESE WORDS ARE IN CAPS LOCK BECAUSE I FEEL SO OVERWHELMED WITH ALL THE COMMUNICATION/EMAILS/PEOPLE THAT I HAVE TO DEAL WITH TODAY.

I DO NOT KNOW WHERE MY ONE YEAR FLEW TO. OKAY, ENOUGH OF THE CAPS LOCK. mY EYES PAIN D.

I still feel like a newbie here. My 365 days here cannot be compared to those I work with. 90% of them have two digits in their years of experience with this company. So yeah.. One year so what? Haha.

Though so busy, I still somehow will find time to blog. It's therapeutic. Sort of. It's like what shopping can do to most stressed out ladies. Or eating their hearts out to the boys. I don't know.. This is definitely one of the way I make myself feel slightly better and not so stressed out. This or eating steamboat. Ahhh.. Steamboat. It's been so long since I makan steamboat. So longg..

Oh well. Signing off now. Another meeting starting in 30 minutes time. The first time, I'm having  Strawberry & Blackcurrant Oat Krunch for dinner. And I've gotta save the energy as baby girl is having a sleepover with her favourite ee ee! *wide smile*

Happy Movie Day!

14 April 2013

Science at Straits.

Volunteer Job for the Dream Catcher for some Science Fair thingy. Okay, it's more like the preggo sister "forced" me into it. Hahaha. Oh well..

Gonna be a good day because we'll be working with children! :)

12 April 2013

Surreal.

BLESSED WEEKEND EVERYONE!

29 March 2013

Star Education Fair 2013.

So, the company put me in charge of Student Travel and it only makes sense that I work when it was Star Edu Fair at PISA. Even if it was on a Saturday and Sunday. Good thing I only had to work on a Saturday!

So, because no one else was able to make it on Saturday with me, I asked Vanessa to help me out. Initial plan was I would pay her half of my allowance, but then when my boss heard that I was paying for my sister, she suggested that the company would pay her, even higher than what I offered her. Good news is good :)

Saturday comes and we had to skipped floorball training AGAIN. There were quite a lot of things to carry like banners and flyers and laptops, so you can imagine the both of us struggling to carry all up at one go, but we managed :)

Pay her to sit and watch Pretty Little Liars.

There were many students walked pass us but hardly anyone stopped by our booth. I can understand because they just want to know details of colleges and what to study and stuff. But what we were giving them was very informative okay. Like a list of airlines that have special student fares to certain places.

It was my first time working at a booth like that and I foresee many more to come. Pretty fun la when they have a lot of people. I made some new friends and met some old ones. Good times, really good times.

11am to 7pm, RM120. Not that bad whatt. Heh.

:)

08 February 2013

Corporate Appreciation Night.

Eastin Hotel organized a party to appreciate all the corporate that has been faithfully using their service for the past years, and Holiday Tours & Travel Penang was invited to be part of it. We even sponsored a trip for two to Cameron Highlands. So, needless to say, I was chosen to attend this amazing dinner with my two bosses, Head of Sales and Head of Sales and Tour! Such honor I had :)

I was reluctant to go at first because my college peeps were having "reunion" that same night! But cannot escape! So, still go la. Did not regret for sure. Haha.

Theme was Old Shanghai Night means we've gotta wear cheongsam! But we were not told.

:)

Like how the menu is not in typical booklet.

This kind of event sure got Yee Sang. I never know how to eat and never will like to eat this.

But still had to take some. So, I took more salmon than whatever that's the rest. Haha.

Double Boiled Kampung Chicken soup with Ginseng. BEST SOUP EVER EATEN IN HOTEL! Okay, maybe the second best since the really best that I ever had was in my sister's wedding! That one also double boiled soup with black chicken or something!

Steamed duck with dried scallops and fish maw. This one also very awesome. The rest of other foods I never take d because the lucky draw took place and then Kumar happened. Haha.

Never.get.anything.at.all. *don't believe in luck*

I have to say that the performances throughout the entire night was amazingly great. Though they lipsing to the the songs played, their quick changing of costumes and dance moves were awesome. And their costumes not like all one piece and doesn't look easy to be put on in such a short time.

And then we had this beer drinking contest for ladies. But because not all ladies drink and some are vegans, they changed it to a glass of coke. The lady in the center won this challenge and then challenged one random dude from the crowd for beer. And won! Overall, she won a hotel stay worth RM5000! Crazy alcoholic girl.

Venessa Diamonds Fashion Show. Saw one that I really liked, and for now can dream about it only. Heh.

My two lady boss :)

Highlight of the whole event. Laughed till I missed my dessert. So gooood.

2D1N Kuala Lumpur: HTT's Annual Dinner 2013.

My very first company's annual dinner.

Because this year they are having it in the HQ, we all get to make a trip down to mad city for 2D1N. Really short getaway but no one's complaining, right.

So, let's get it started (WARNING: LOADS OF PICTURES AHEAD)

must-have-things-in-long-rides: fav smelly pillow, sweater, toilet paper, shades, socks (yes, i need to cover my feet to not freeze in bus)

the very confy seats we've got to enjoy.

two hours break at One U before proceeding to Sepang Gold Coast (which was like 2 hours away) Hersheys galleria, only in Mad City.

Arrived safely. Got a room all to myself NOT! Haha. Four peeps to one massive room.

You will know it when Penang lang arrives. Very noisyyy!

Alicia, the person I sit next to in office.

The structure of the whole resort is a palm tree, hence the name of the resort.

The many pathways to the so many rooms that they have.

View from ze room. The picture just doesn't do the justice la. It's breathtaking. The chalets were literally on the water. Can't see any beach area from my side :)

Door gift that was given :))

What I see from my bed.

More balcony's view.

I opened the closet and saw that the color was pretty so decided to be 'artistic'. Tadaaa, my party dress, necklace and bracelets. So colorful rightt.

The bathroom so huge.

Dolled up for the event at the beach.

My roomies, Alicia and Vivian, head of corporate sales.

Goofy-ing around with their props.

Alicia and Malik.

The weather was at its best. Not too sunny, and not too windy (so no hair flying everywhere)

I thought the table set-up was pretty decently classy. Gold always makes thing a lot classier.

The colorful set-up of the canopies.

With so many guests, around 300, that is one small stage.

Face painting: rose (fav flower)

4 newbies of the company.

Vivian and I.

Food was just alright. Nothing to shout about. I've had better bbqs anytime.

Breakfast was heavenly, especially at this bakery section. I'm not a big fan of flour-y foods but their pastries were WOW. And I had yogurt. You would know if you have followed me on Instagram (which is so weird cos Salaku doesn't touch yogurt)

Breakfast with infinity pool's view. Too bad no time to swim in it.

Each got an instant photo print-out.

HTT's Corporate Sales Team. Youngest in the team yo :)

Raining when we left. Gonna miss the place. Oh and they have the softest pillows and most comfortable blanket ever.

Won a travelling bag and sunscreen from Singapore Airlines. Not that bad. Most of the prizes were return air flight tickets to Bangkok, Paris, Hatyai, Jakarta, Korea, Taiwan and any Europe destinations. All fully sponsored by the giant airlines: MAS, Emirates, Etihad, Singapore Airlines, China Airlines etc. Good thing I didn't win any of those air tickets. If not, go alone ma very sad. Of course we also have Iphone 5 and Samsung smartphones and Ipads for giveaways. And of course I didn't win any of those. If not, Instagram and Twitter friends sure know d. Haha.

It was a great bonding time with my fellow HTT-ers. Here's to a good start for the company! :)
